I had the same issues with the java error, installing new java didnt help.
The solution (on win 10) was the following:
(hidden folders must be shown)
go to C:/User/user name /appdata/
there I have the folders local+locallow+Roaming
In 2 of them I found the folder sun/java/
you have to delete the java folder
After that it worked perfectly for me
