Best way to find out is google the model and brand of the smartphone and add ethernet next to it and normally it'll pop the manual or forums.
I found out the samsung supports it in the Note 8, A8, S8 and beyond, A20 and beyond.
I still have not found out which old model iPhone supports it yet, I did find out that iPhone 6/6s does not support ethernet.
