What ak22 said. 225/45R18 square setup is the proper size. 245/40 is too wide for the winter, although you'd likely be ok in Toronto.

Blizzaks are the way to go. Start looking for a used set on Kijiji. I got mine last Oct, used for 3 winters on a set of replica black BMW BBS look rims for $1100. The guy paid $3600 new for them, and returned his leased 4 series early after losing his job due to Covid.

If you think $250 a tire is expensive, you're in for a huge surprise if you have to replace one rear 255/35R19 run flat due to a screw in the sidewall.
