It's really a 32k car with 10-30k in options. When done that way, a lot of little things get left out vs a car with an actual base price of 50k.
I can see it with our X5 - same "out the door" price as my 335i but it has some nice features that my 335i doesn't, and overall just "feels" like a more premium/expensive vehicle. The X5 base price is higher, but we didn't option it up as much as my 335i so the prices ended up pretty close.
