I couldn't sing very well and I wasn't a good enough guitarist to hold my own without singing (few are). So, I sold my electric gear and bought a used Martin acoustic and just played for my own enjoyment. I've had many guitars over the years but that old Martin is the one I've kept. I still cannot sing, but I do get it out from time to time and just play old favorites or learn a new song that catches my ear.
It got me thinking. How many of you in this crazy crowd currently play or played guitar? Were/are you in a band? Do you still play? What's your favorite guitar?

Picked up the bass about 18 months ago at 64. I always wanted to play guitar, even bought a Yamaha acoustic/electric, to play at church (I can't sing either). The team needed a bass player so I dove in. I bought a Fender Jazz bass from a friend and went to town. I have quite small hands and was having all kinds of trouble fretting (which was/is my problem with the Yamaha). I could barely reach 3, let alone 4. On a recommendation from our worship leader, I bought a Gretsch short-scale bass. Fretting is much easier and I'm really enjoying playing.
