Nothing wrong in being hopeful, but I'm not sure we will see such high figures as an average. E91 auto is reported as still under 40mpg as a real world average. I know some users will get better averages and some high figures for light load drives. But I can't see how we can get a 10mpg improvement in the real world.
I'd love to be proved wrong, but too many years studying mpg figures teaches me to be a little cautious of such a jump in the official combined figure. I expect a bigger percentage of mpg shortfall, than the previous generation.
