Which MHD transmission option?

I have a stock automatic N55 EWG but confused which transmission to go with for MHD stage 1. What does reduced power fix do? Can't find a clear answer anywhere. Some say the xHP version adds wear and tear and MHD is a safer fake version?

MHD can “fix” (more like trick) the transmission to change torque loads in specific gears. XHP actually tunes the transmission. They bump line pressure up, change shift mapping, and add a lot of other features.

If you are going MHD Stage 1 I would reccomend at the very least XHP Stage 1 (Stage 2/3 if you want a more sporty and faster shifting transmission) to bump the line pressure up and change the torque loads in gears so your transmission doesn’t shift weird, get sloppy, etc.

I’m using the wrong terminology i’m sure but just wanted to give you a rough idea of what each thing does. When I flashed Stage 1 MHD, I went straight to Stage 3 XHP. It has super fast and aggressive shifting, and overall it’s way more fun to drive.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. I or someone else can chime in.

The mhd trans thing just tricks the car into thinking is making less power and stuff.. the correct way is to get xhp and do it that way.

Thanks. I should have searched for xHP instead of the limiter fix from MHD. From what I read, lot of people recommend xHP with their flash tunes as well.

xHP should in theory be more reliable with less wear then faking it correct? My car is a DD and occasionally I drive it in sports or hit the lever to the left. I’m assuming I should go with the normal 8 AT option in MHD then flash xHP?

All this to say I don’t want to limit my 3rd and 6th gear since I’m going with MHD stage 1 or 2 correct? Appreciate it guys.

You won't have any additional wear with xhp.. now a custom trans tune will add wear and that's why they recommend only certain trans fluids for when you service them.. get xhp.. you'll be fine..
Also do the trans service as ZF says to when you're supposed to and all will be fine.

xHP will be more reliable 100%. As for wear, I would say it wears the same as if you drive normally. Tuning the transmission doesn’t add more or less wear unless you are constantly beating on the transmission or doing a bunch of launches.

My car is a Daily Driver also so i didn’t want to compromise on the how my transmission operates.

In MHD, At the top of the flashing options under transmission you will select “Manual Trans/xHP” (i’m not plugged into my car right now but it says something like that).

It doesn’t matter which one you flash first but if you want my opinion just flash MHD first then xHP.
