Service requirements, Is this correct?
Hi all,
Only owned my BMW f30 for around 14 months and it was serviced just 7 months ago at my local BMW dealership. Idrive at that point stated next service due in 2023 or 18000 miles but roll on just 7 months and 10,000 miles added to mileage and it is now saying it is overdue for both a vehicle check and engine oil change, surely this is not correct. Any advice before BMW pull my pants down would be much appreciated. Cheers. |

There are different service items at different times.
A vehicle check is also an MOT I think, which can easily be changed to whenever your MOT is due.

As above, look at idrive - could be brake fluid or brake pads, inspection Likely to be due same time as oil change.
MOT is not logged on the Idrive I don't think. Armaan |

Thanks for the info, but no, its not the MOT.
I spoke to BMW on the phone and they told me that it seemed strange and to pop up for someone to take a look. They have confirmed that it does need the big service and put it down to driving style which I know is ridiculous as I do not in any way abuse the car. |

I drive 170 miles yesterday, and my oil change service requirement dropped from 6000 miles to 4900.
I reckon BMW employ someone to remotely reduce service interval times! |

The cars have condition based servicing, sensors that monitor the condition of the oil.
After an oil change the car is set for the next service at 2 years or 18,000 miles. However the 18,000 can go up or down depending on the condition of the oil. This would explain yours dropping to 10,000. My last car went up to 20,000. If you don't think this is right, could it be a faulty sensor? ...or do you do a lot of short journeys that has deteriorated the oil? |
