Haha only so many hours in the day...I have already fixed that problem though, I've been like a 16 year old with a new license. "I think we need (insert random item here). I will run to the store and get it!"

So, here are some more impressions so far:
-- Looks way better in person! -- I don't have a single issue with the steering feel - handles great, gives great feedback. Maybe it's because I haven't been spoiled like this before. -- Heads up display/extended contents is really cool, makes a tech freak like me geek out. -- Standard sound system is very good quality, I was worried that I would regret not getting the premium HK, but am very pleased with sound of standard system. It's all I'll ever need (maybe that signals I'm getting old, but I still love music, so maybe not!) -- Cockpit/controls impress me even more the more I drive it. -- iphone snap in - sticker shock ($268 with tax from parts department), and have to take the case off my phone to fit - incredibly dumb!!! (although looks streamlined and cool, not that anyone sees it!) I'm going to mod it, shave the plastic down so it will fit with case. That said, integration with idrive is crazy! Love it. -- Can't use siri or text with it...the down side of it in the center console. -- Although the halogens look better than I thought they would, still wish I could've gotten the xenons. I still wouldn't have payed $4500 for them though. I don't want, wish for, or miss any of the premium options. I will definitely be purchasing oem or aftermarket upgrade. |

I forgot to add one major impression: Power from the N20 is amazing, I am still surprised at the launch and un-4 cylinder-like response from this thing! It doesn't feel like I "settled" at all from the six...except for the sound. |

No issues with my steering at all either, it's rock solid at all speeds. Steering is a bit light; takes all of 5 minutes to get used to it. I'm a techie too and I love all of the things the i-drive/nav will do. In fact I wish it had more options. I think the things that people are having to do coding for should have been options, or just have an advanced page for them. I can't convince myself to take the risk and start coding this thing. Agree on the sound system too, it's fine for my old ears. This is our third beemer (last one was 12 years ago) and I forgot how much fun it was to drive and how well it seems to read my mind around corners, there is just nothing like it. I opted for the BMW assist so no need for a cable/cradle; it works great with my wife's i-phone. With my blackberry, I can also read messages (text and e-mail); really cool. I added the Xenon's just before production and I'm glad I did. The front end with the eyes on looks really cool and the extras brightness is really noticeable. With the high-beams on, it's like daylight. |

Acceleration from a stop in eco/comfort is good, but you really have to push the peddle to get over the little bit of turbo lag. In sport mode, it's a totally different animal; the throttle response is amazing. It's like having two different cars. I've driven other cars that have multiple engine/transmission profiles, but there wasn't really much of a difference. I think this is what surprised me the most about the 328. |

Assist comes with the enhanced bluetooth stuff. That will allow you to do messaging (non-iphone asn Apple does not support that protocol yet) and wirelessly stream music from your i-phone to the car. AFAIK, the only reason for the cradle (along with assist) is to boost the phone signal by using the shark-fin and to charge the phone. I decided not to get the cradle for exactly your complaint; My wifes iphone case is a PITA to get off, so the cradle just wasn't going to work. Plus, the cradle uses a lot of the (fairly small) armrest space. |

You can purchase the xenons from BMW after production. Cheaper and you dont have to get the other options with the premium package. Thats what i did, just a little wait time due to everything for the f30 being backordered.. A little over 1k but well worth it. |
