Touch screen iDrive

I have a 2018 F36 and now the 19 F36 has a touch screen. Has anyone tried to install the touch screen display?

The 2018 had touchscreens as well.

Was in a 2018 Loaner for 19 days recently. It had a touchscreen.

Used it all of once.

It just isn’t convenient and leaves smudges all over the screen.

Yes - it leaves smudges and I have also barely used it, but sometimes it is more intuitive to use it. E.g. when using Apple car play (which is badly integrated, but that's another story) or to pan the map.

I hate touch screens as primary means of interaction, but I do like them as secondary, as in the 2018- models. So I like the existance of it.

2018 4 series did not have touchscreen, 2018 3 series did

2018 (LCI) 4-Series (or at least Gran Coupe) does have touchscreen!

Shame we can't retrofit this without losing all services and XM otherwise I'd already have it less the touchscreen (using 10.2" and I'm not goin' back now)
