Wavetrac ATB LSD - Disable eDiff?

Thinking of going for a Wavetrac ATB LSD for my 2017 340 xDrive. I hear the unit is a great match. Not too aggressive and no need for spacers or shaving down the casing to make it fit like the M Perf LSD.

I was wondering if I needed to disable the car's eDiff where it applies the brake on the inner wheel to transfer torque. Does anyone know? Can I leave it as is? Or should I turn it off?

Thanks

Interested to hear the answer, as well as the wavetrac experience.

Leave it be. The mechanical diff should kick in immediately first the ediff needs to do nothing but as backup.

So, the sh*tty open diff is on most of the time.

Well, that does explain a lot.

Thanks for the info.

I have the quaife lsd diff and this is true. The elsd only lights up when 1 wheel is off the ground, but I don't think that's a problem with the wavetrac.

If you didn't turn off ediff and you've been using the Quaife LSD for a while and haven't ended up in a ditch, looks I can leave it alone.

A Quaife fit your car? Interesting. I reached out to Dan at Diffsonline regarding the wavetrac and still no reply. Maybe I have to reach out to Quaife.

Farkle has a video regarding the Wavetrac. That dude has replaced half the parts on his car then replaced those, again. If he gives it a positive review, it's high praise.

I got my quaife diff from birdsauto (UK company). The traction light would always flicker for 2nd gear pulls. Now it just goes straight even though it still spins. Birdsauto also told me I don't have to code out the e-diff

Did you feel a big day and night difference with traction and going around corners?

Definitely a necessity especially if you have 600whp+. I'm more confident with the car now because it is now predictable, consistent, and safe. As far as cornering, exiting a corner is so much better as the diff sends more torque to the outside wheel.
