Bigboost Turbo Kit - Road to 600HP
Hey Guys! I started installing my Bigboost turbo kit last week. Here are some of the pictures. Now this kit is somewhat hard to install. You will have to play puzzle to get things connected correctly. Removing the oil line and coolant line from the engine block is a pain in the ass. You will have to wiggle the nozzle and pull at the same time. I'll add more pictures as I make progress.

Nice! Replacing my engine currently and thought about going big boost while the engine is out, but I'm doing a vtt gc instead since it's my daily and I want to keep myself outta too much trouble lol. Look forward to seeing the end result though 👍

I got the boost controller hooked up yesterday.
I'm using add-a-circuit fuse tap to get the power for the main display unit. This is cleaner than tapping into an existing wire. You need to use a 5v fuse for the controller not 10v like the one shown in the picture. ![]() ![]() ![]() I will have to move the solenoid away from the turbo manifold as it's putting out too much heat. ![]() ![]() |

Are you bypassing the stock electronic boost control entirely?
I can’t figure out how the boost is controlled with the external wastegate and the OEM controls. |

Gotcha, thanks.
It seems like you are re-mounting the black plastic piece that controlled the internal wastegate on the OEM turbo? Why is that? Looks like a badass kit. |

So the kit comes with a turbo that has an internal wastegate, in addition to using the external wastegate mounted to the manifold? That’s where I’m not getting it. Sounds like the internal wastegate of the new turbo isn’t being used. |

It was similar on my previous car. I had an external EBC but still had to keep the OEM boost control stuff plugged in to keep the car from randomly going into limp mode. |

seems an odd thing to do seeing as youll get better boost control using the external gate at higher boost levels. |

I’m planning on installing a Big Boost Turbo but quick question! What was the process of filling the oil and coolant back up after the turbo install? I have this step by step page for disassemble/reassemble of a stock B58 Turbo but I think its saying something about using a vacuum filler device to fill the coolant back properly, Can you confirm that process?

What are you using for a fueling setup? Straight 93, meth, or e85? I am exploring options for pump gas only and am wondering what setup is best bang/buck. I've been looking at bigboost, pure800, and the vtt gc turbos and wondering what would be the best of those on 93 pump only.

I ran into a problem when the guy that was helping me busted one of the stud holes on the block. Luckily there is a local BMW performance shop. The shop name is Silicon Valley Bimmers. These guys will work on anything you want to them to do. Check them out if you are local.
