BMW 420 F33 front head rest adjustment

Wondered if anyone was able to help me.
My 420 has the M seats (see pics) and I can’t seem to raise the front headrests. There is no button to adjust them on the headrest itself and online it says some are controlled by lifting up the tilt button at the side but that doesn’t work either.
Any advice would be much appreciated

Thanks

Try sliding the backrest adjustment button up vertically.

Yeah this is what I tried but the button doesn’t move up and nothing happens when I hold in that position

I have the same seats in my car and have managed to raise the headrest slightly.

I just lifted the headrest a fraction at which point you can see the button to depress to raise the headrest further. I'll post a picture of my headrest later.

A word of warning though, the above procedure will result in skinned fingers and a lot of swearing - in my experience

Ok slight revision, my seats have the neck [not a chance] heaters, but the seat design is the same and I have taken images of my seat [headrest raised] and the passenger with headrest unmolested [my wife is a foot shorter]

From memory all I did was to force my fingers in under the headrest [hence the skinned fingers and expletives] and push/lift the headrest up - I think that the button on the top of the seat. Clearly BMW didn't think people would adjust the headrest height.

In my previous E93 the seat adjustment button would raise the headrest, though that seat design was totally different.

Excellent. I just pulled up on my headrest and it easily moved up a couple indents. I should have tried this before!

The protruding top had always annoyingly pecked at my head going over bumps. I'm genuinely excited for my next drive.

I've been trying hard off and on for an hour to adjust my headrest on 435i 2016 my conclusion is that there is no adjustment available just a half inch there's no buttons to press anywhere no controls that affect the headrest etc. My goal was to be able to have strap like a trash can thing behind the passenger side but they're so wide.

But it seems ridiculous and such a nice car that you cannot make an adjustment on the headset to get to the at least to the poles underneath them.....

I am so with you. I want to mount a hook to hang my laundered clothes and there is not a direct access from the rear to the headrest posts.
