Professional media question
Good evening,
I'm in the process of selling my 205,000 miles 2013 F30 330D M sport as spares or repairs due to engine issues. (Timing chain gone) One thing I've noticed when looking for replacements is the lack of professional media on many models and enhanced Bluetooth. Is taking this out and putting it in another F30 a simple swap or does it require quite a lot of effort. I'm guessing it's just easier to wait for the spec I want to come along as I'm in no rush. Thank you. |

As no one with way more experiance than me has replied heres what I have picked up. @wibbles knows a lot about this subject and he can do coding for audio systems, maybe send him a PM and tell him what you have, hes very helpfull and hes helped a lot of members code Carplay to compatible units. Its not just a case of swapping your screen over though, the amplifier will differ depending on the OEM system chosen at start, there are companies who sell and fit complete upgraded HK systems. Its no effort for them, its just a cost for you unless you want to take it on and then it will be a lot of effort for you. Its very easy to switch the screen if thats all you need to do but. If your buying a later model its probably going to have a better IDrive system in anyway so yeah I would just look for a car with Pro Nav. If you get into 2016 plus your potentially looking at full screen CarPlay, unless your Android obviously. I think the 2016 stuff needs the right firmware and coding which wibbles offers as a service, mine is 2018 Id6 and BMW says my car isnt compatiple but wibbles could have coded it if I was prepared to go Apple.
