Lost audio on 2015 F31 320i xDrive Touring

Hello,

My car audio has always been great, until a few days ago. I heard some loud crackles through some of the speakers, and both DAB and FM radio became intermittent. The next time I turned on the car, I lost ALL audio, including parking distance sensor beeps. I've tried resetting the audio by holding down the audio power button for > 30 seconds, but that hasn't helped. Sat Nav and CD player have no sound either, although otherwise seem to function.

I'd really appreciate any thoughts about what might have happened? And is the problem more likely to be the head unit (I opened-up the dash, and the model number is 6512 CI 9 193 895), or the amp, which I believe is in the back left of the boot. I have the M Sport Plus Edition which includes the 688 Harman Kardon system.

I live in Guildford, Surrey, UK, so would also appreciate any tips on any local company who could potentially repair, if it's not something I'll be able to do!

Thanks,

Richard.

Almost certainly the amp. Check the amp in the boot, just see if there’s any water in there (though I don’t think leaks are as common on an F31).

Options are to get a replacement amp, but that’s about £400 for a used one and will need coding. There are a few companies that offer repair services too so maybe someone can advise on some reputable ones.

Thanks for the reply.
This morning, I have been able to get to the amp - there is no water damage - dry as a bone.
The amp itself looks like it had an amber and red light on (neither blinking), but not sure what that means. When I disconnect the MOST optical light, that flashes red a couple of times (which I think means the signal from head unit is OK)?
Model of Amp is B104 (6512 9 366 164)
