The company I work for had a great year and as a result, it's bonus time for me.

So.......within the next week I plan on purchasing the JB4 to go with my DP. Here's what I think I need for my '15 335 (EWG);

-primary tune/hardware
-EWG harness
-OBD connector
-maybe the flex fuel harness (even though there isn't E85 remotely close to me)

I guess what I'm unsure/confused about is whether the primary tune comes fitted with EWG board (and latest software update) and the EWG harness. I've been looking on various sites and it doesn't look as though one can order the JB4 specifically with the EWG board and corresponding harness.

Any insight is appreciated! I should also probably look at an ER charge pipe.

FF harness already comes with jb4

And yes they now come fitted with ewg board. Just make sure you order for ewg and not pwg

Thanks. Ok, just need to understand if ordering for EWG whether or not the corresponding harness comes with or if this is a separate purchase.

Ewg harness upgrade is sold separately for like $35

Congrats but why wait a week?

In a week most prices will go back to retail. you should take advantage of the Black Friday pricing.

The EWG JB4 comes with the new EWG board but does not come with the EWG addon harness. ITs not needed for basic applications but can allow the JB4 make more power for higher mod / boost applications.

Also a great time to get downpipes as prices are the lowest they are all year this week

You will get much better results from maps 2, 5, 6 and 7 with EWG harness hooked up than without it.

Map 1 and 2 are additive maps with partial adaption but with pre-set boost targets. Without EWG harness, I think I'm right in saying that difference between actual boost levels from map 1 and map 2 will be minimal as DME dictates.

With EWG harness, fuller potential of map 2 quoted boost targets can be achieved in practice.

Here in the UK, some of us have tried adding Octane boosters to into a tank with pump fuel. Aussie Brand "NF Race OB" is proving to provide best results. Comparing pump fuel only on map 5 and EWG harness, NF OB brings an extra 1.5-2 psi more boost ie upto 18-18.5psi.

Adding OB to a car without EWG harness sees little or no gains in terms extra boost as DME has upper limits.
