Help! WTF is this buzzing noise? (Solved! Valvetronic failing)

Engine off, just went to get something out of the car and heard this coming from under the engine cover. Haven't tried to start it yet, anyone have any clue?

OK, I have heard a lot of weird noises from my N55 also but that one beat the all LOL... Coming from the middle of the engine?

Yeah, unfortunately i'm pretty sure it's the valvetronic system... If I unplug the valvetronic system the noise stops. Swapped my stock DP in last night, service appointment on Wednesday, here's to hoping my CPO covers it.

Another (PWG like myself) MHD member in the WhatsApp chat also had his valvetronic system start failing last week... Wondering if any more are going to start popping up..

Hope not, looks like the system is common on PWG and EWG cars. All PN on real OEM are the same between my EWG and a PWG car from 2013.
