M2 vs standard N55 oil pump differences?
Long story short, the Dr4gula blew up 2 weeks ago. I just bought a very low mileage M2 N55 engine to swap in. I've been looking at the differences between the 2 engines. We all talk about the crank rods and pistons, but the oil pumps are different too. The pickup only appears to have 1 pickup tube. So what's the difference between these pumps?

There’s quite a lot of differences on the M2 N55.
Besides an M-specific oil pump (also used on S55), it also uses a different oil suction pipe. And there’s a different M-specific oil suction pump & drive shaft, an M-specific thermostat housing, and M2-specific exhaust manifold/turbocharger, among other things… I don’t know what’s the exact specs or physical differences between the two oil pumps tho’. |
