F32, 428ix with 70k miles. Comfort access works fine locking/unlocking both doors from the outside. However with the key in my right pocket, as I have done 100s of times, the key with the slash and remote fault appears on the screen when I press the start button.

I have a new battery in both fobs as well as a new battery in the car. And nothing has been changed in the car.

I am thinking there is a fault with an interior antenna. However I am not certain as to where the antenna would be located that recognizes the key. Realoem shows 4 interior antennas in the diagram however shows 3 listed as quantity. I believe that there is an interior antenna in each door and maybe one near or under the front seat?

Not excited about taking this to the dealer when I could likely fix myself.

I tried Carly to scan but didn’t come up with any errors.

Anyone experience similar that can offer some guidance?

Some people have had the same issue when replacing the batteries in the remotes and are saying that the new battery was the problem. Seems some cheep batteries just don't work in the remotes. Others say that they had to clear the codes in the car before they could get the remotes with new batteries to work. Both see a bit strange to me, but I have seen multiple post claiming to have these problems.

Good luck with finding a resolution.
