Valve cover gasket notes
While there are some good N55 how tos, note that they won't be exactly the same for our F34s.
The 4 prong PCV connector will break. With 100k miles, even my gentle work with a small zip tie saw it snap 2 of 4 tabs. The rear lower corner bolt will need a swivel connector right next to the torq socket. That one is a pain. I found that the furthest back valve cover bolt on the bottom was loose. Not sure which was first, brittle gasket and leak or loosened bolt and leak. My gasket at 100k miles was very brittle. Carefully clean all gunk that was next to the valve cover. Hind sight I should have shop air blown the snot around it. But, carefully clean mating surface and hood to go. I threw a code on test drive. #4 ignition coil connector wasn't fully seated. Seems to have reset once checked. No issues ongoing. 6 hours and 3 beers dave a lot of $$$ at the dealer. |

Valve cover gasket
I recently changed my value cover gasket. None of the N55 videos i looked at had the same fuel rail connectors as mine were threaded on on both sides. There was one bolt on the fire wall side that you needed to lift up some of the plastic clips to access that wasn't obvious at 1st. I got to use a new crow foot wrench to set the torque on the fuel lines

Valve cover gasket 2
6 hours seems about the same time it took me. I had ordered parts from FCPeuro, and i guess i selected the wrong PVC hose, so had to order a new one (local dealer to save time). I did get the clips off without breaking but the hose its self was very brittle and broke when i was moving it out of the way.
