Cool feature, find something, learn anything?
Seems like every day there is something I learn about this car or find a new feature. I don't know if there is a thread or if I should read the manual but I like hearing about other people's experiences.
Today I was in the trunk and found out where the battery and fuses are! And also some handy tools like a screwdriver that has Philips and Flathead as well as the tow hook. There is also a button on the trunk itself to open it. In another thread I learned the 1-8 buttons could be programmed as anything. Anyone else find other interesting/neat things? |

Here are few:
* When you initially open the sunroof with one touch it goes back...but not all the way. You have to click it one more time to get it to retract all the way. * I'm sure this one has already been said, but the easiest way to prevent the engine from shutting off while at a stop light is the move the gear selecter to the left. That will prevent the engine from shutting off. * Dont forget your car came with a trunk net. You can find it in the trunk under the flip up lid that would normally house a spare tire. |

First thing I found out when I took the car for a test drive. Reminds me of either my old E36 or E46 sunroof. It did the same thing. To me, that is somewhat annoying. Is it possible to open it all the way with one press?

There's a little, paper clip-sized hole underneath the right side (US) mirror. Short press it once and the compass display will illuminate. You'll soon see why most people will leave it off. Its a bit of a bright distraction too close to the eye. If you check the onboard manual, you'll find a number of other functions of that pin hole button (search: compass).

There's an easily learned technique of pressing the brake hard after stopping and then immediately lightening the pressure on the brake a bit. This will also obviate the auto-stop function. This technique is documented in the manual.

Been there, done that....with a manual transmission...it's quite a circus. I believe it's even more entertaining for fellow drivers on the road trying to watch me.
