Best handwash and full detail in DC/MD/VA area?
Looking for the best top quality hand wash / full detail in the DMV area (I'm in Maryland) -- someone who really takes their time and takes pride in their work, and doesn't rush the job. I need someone that can detail the car back to like new showroom quality maybe once a year when winter is over. I have family in NoVA so I'm willing to make the drive there if it's worth it.
I'm also looking for someone that does F32 coding in the area. Thanks. Last edited by dr.roro; 02-24-2017 at 05:48 PM.. |

You don't say where you are in MD, but I've heard of a good shop between DC & Balto - would have to do some research.
Brian at SpeedFreak Detailing in Chantilly VA does exceptional work, and may require more than one day to get your car looking better than new. http://speedfreakdetailing.com/ He also has a Facebook page.

I'm in Annapolis, so between DC and Baltimore would be perfect. If you find the place, let me know. Like I said in the OP, I'm willing to drive to NoVA too so I will definitely check out SpeedFreak Detailing as well.

what do you guys think of the details the dealers offer? I have 1 complimentary full detail there worth 275 and not sure about it.
Often are you supposed to get your car waxed anyhow? I'd love to know where in NoVa is a self-service power washer like the 'ol days. Seems they all closed. |

A wax will usually last you about 3 months. Sealants can go a little longer to maybe 6. |

also, for a regular wash, most dealers just run it through an automated, brush washer I always tell them 'no' to any wash

I've had a pretty good experience at Maryland Auto Spa in Silver Spring,MD and had Carson do paint correction/ceramic coating. He did a pretty good job - he offers mobile detailing services, too, although I do not know if he will go to Annapolis.

Just to follow up with my own question -- I had an excellent experience with Chris Turner @ A Buff and Beyond (Linthicum Heights, MD). He did paint correction and CQuartz coating on my 435i at an amazing price. Super friendly and knowledgeable detailer, and was flexible with my schedule to have it all done on a Saturday. Also very happy with the polish and protection from CQuartz.

I usually detail my cars but haven't been able to for the past year or so. I have two places I'd highly recommend (the names are very similar) - Xtreme Auto Details (also recommended by JimBeam above). Mike and Priscilla run a great shop, good hours, high quality work, and reasonable prices but you can usually find a Groupon for their services.
If you want the detailer to come to you (which is very nice), try Extreme Auto Details (http://extreme-details.com/). Mike has done nice exterior details w/ light interior cleaning for two of my vehicles but he does it all and has several different packages available. The mobile service is convenient. Pricing is a bit higher w/ Extreme but both are worth every penny. Good luck...
