I popped out today to deliver some croceries to my elderly in law. On the way home I thought I'd give it some, done pretty well (considering baggies, bike packing bags and 20psi 47mm 650b tyres) and gave myself a pat on the back when I saw Strava... I'd not feel that if i'd used the e-bike. I enjoyed the effort and knowing it was all my own watts (or lack of in my case) it felt good. I see road e-bikes as a supurb enabler for the serious unfit or medically not sable to safely output power, not for the enthusiast hunting hills or segments. The roads have not got any steeper or longer, and we've ridden them for many years just fine and enjoyed the challange. I see more point in MTB e-bikes as some terrain is just torture using leg power alone (but then I think, should we even be riding it if it's that steep???) When I cant ride for medical reasons, i'll be splashing the cash on that fancy blue GT hardtail e-bike I see on my local shop. But until then I want to keep the feeling of accomplishment and effort.

I put off getting an E-bike for a little while longer and ordered one of these today instead.
