Arroyo Tires any good?
I just bought a set of staggered 400M sport 18" rims and am now looking for tires. came across a set of Arroyo Run Flat Plus All Season Ultra High Performance tires for less than $700 for the set (online tires.com)
Thinking it must be a "too good to be true" situation right? Anyone running them? if so your thoughts? |

I've never heard of that brand but run away from run flats - if you look, most people in the forum switch to standard tires, because the ride is much better. I use a tire kit, similar to what BMW equips.

^^^ That's what's paramount Never heard of them = avoid like the plague If you want decent all-season tyres; stick with the likes of Michelin, Continental, Goodyear, Vredestein etc and do yourself a favour and go with non RFTs unless you absolutely want RFTs

Arroyo seems like it's just another white label brand of Indonesian or Chinese tire that meets the absolute bare minimum of DOT standards.
The cheapest you should go is Barum, which is Continental's value line. Barum was once the premier rubber manufacturer for Communist Czechoslovakia; after which Continental bought them out and turned them into their C tier tire. Continental - A General - B Barum - C |

I like a good deal, like everyone else but tires are arguably the most important pieces of equipment on your vehicle. don't buy cr@p...
falken azenis fk460 or general g-max as-07 are both are priced reasonably and are good value |

Tire inflator and a plug kit in my trunk has done me just fine. Anything past the damage a plug kit can't fix, a runflat isn't going to do any better than a regular tire and you'll need a tow anyway. I have one set for my 440 and one for my wifes x5. Both have been switched from run flats (nothing but problems) to normal tires (no issues since).

Thanks for this - no idea they existed! Ever have to use one? Does it work well for things like nail punctures? I assume tears/sidewall issue aren't going to work? |

Sidewall tearing is going to require a tow truck whether you have RFTs or not. You can also supplement this with those cheap plug kits if you don't want to use the slime for a small hole: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Slime-De...40-A/203349942 |

thanks for the information everyone - think i will go with the non-run flat tires and either a spare kit or one of the repair kits.
I'm leaning towards repair kit just because it will take up less trunk space. I found a BMW OEM option (https://www.bimmerworld.com/Tools/BM...102333674.html) Any one have experience with this and found it worth the extra XX vs one I can get on Amazon? |

https://www.amazon.com/AirMan-ResQ-T...00BJ34L3E?th=1 The larger one I linked fits perfectly flat in the rear F30 trunk floor cubby and seems nicer to use. I believe airMan is some German brand, or has some tangential relationship with Continental VDO. |
