My car only had one mic - on the drivers side (RHD car).
Sounds like you’ll need to access newTIS and work out where you’ve gone wrong with the wiring. The functionality of the existing mic should be unaffected, as there are no changes required / made there. Simply the addition of the new mic for B&O. |

Thanks @blau3er .
Will try by putting the old mic back on and then double check the new mic and wire. I guess I have to make another hole in the roof, or swipe it with the other old mic on the other side. @truymenh Where did you buy those illuminated grills from? They look spot on. |

The Match range doesn’t have the 14 channels needed to do this build. Match also doesn’t by default have digital audio that B&O has or the active noise compensation and if added mixes the BMW audio channels down the stereo. PDC drops to left / right only. The B&O speakers including woofers that are better than most of the drop aftermarket options.
I believe B&O also has Dirac derived DSP maps. Love how this install looks and is completely factory using factory components , yet an option that the audio option 3 series never got. |

Would you mind a question with the B&O system. Does it have two or three sound profiles ? Eg Profile 1 normal ( Nothing ticked ) profile 2 Studio ( ticked ) Profile 3 Expanded ( ticked ) Or is it just the two with Studio and Expanded ? Just working on something at the moment with Idrive |

It only has two options.
After living with it for some time now, I use Studio for a better listening experience! |

Perfect , thanks for replying. Context for the question is putting a feature request into a dsp / amp company to allow more that 2 maps to be used ( they have 4 slots ).
Was checking B&O mapping capability. Couldn’t tell if it was 2 or 3. I’m guessing studio has less sound field processing so probably more hifi like . |

Obviously that is Marketing BS - however the studio mode is so much clearer and defined across the whole range, and importantly for me, the bass is much tighter and less boomy. For those who want "more" bass, expanded mode probably sounds like it has more bass, but it does not have the clarity of studio. |

If they're being accurate studio sound replicates what the engineer listened to when the recording was mixed: two channel stereo plus subs.

May I ask what DSP coding settings you went for in the end for the HU and AMP? I've fitted this system too but so far struggle to make it sound right - albeit in a somewhat different cabin. |

HU is coded for B&O and and such has the studio and expanded modes, along with EQ settings, which I have played around a bit with. I find Studio the best. What issues are you experiencing? I can't say I have felt that its not set up correctly (to my untrained ear anyway, before any sound engineers tell me otherwise!) |

Thinking with the amp software you’d want to esys flash the B&O amp it with the smallest cabin option of the supported BMW models to get the DSPs time alignment and cabin gain adjustments closer to the dimensions of the F3x chassis.
EG , compare 5 series to others from a dimensional point of view and speaker placement. Ideally you wouldn’t want to run x5-x6 or 7 series software with their larger cabins. Otherwise, it could be a case of tailoring your equaliser settings. There is a thread on bimmerpost Ecco system that had a sound engineer coming up with a shallow V shape across the EQ range. That might be to your liking. Key for flashing would be to work out which amp software applies to which BMW model. Guessing some of the coders on here would be able to work that out. https://www.carsized.com/en/cars/com...x5-2015-suv-m/ https://www.carsized.com/en/cars/com...-5-2010-sedan/ |
