car was supposed to arrive yesterday. then today. now tomorrow, perhaps? carrier has not left the VPC. when it does it'll be one day to dealer. not having a hard time waiting oddly enough perhaps because everything else has been so quick and watching others get their cars has been satiating and thrilling to be part of too, who knows?

I called and spoke to my CA and told him and everyone I know at the dealer to not install the front plate bracket as I was going to not run a front plate for a while and if needed to would use one of the automatic/motorized plate holders that hides the plate in the bumper and comes out when you need it to. Turns out no matter how many folks my CA told and wrote it down for when the tech did PDI the inventory manager had it installed. I'm going to take delivery and they said they would make it right. Weather is too nice this weekend to not enjoy the new car.

Hope they follow instructions

Man that socks... How annoying they cannot even make sure!
Best way is to literally make him or her walk to the car and tape a paper right there with the instruction for everyone who sees it to NOT install the front plate frame. |

i probably should have. in the end it's annoying and that's it. first world problems, really. so, dealer will take car back on monday, and have pro body shop make it right and remove bracket and close up holes.

this car is ridiculously fun. i mean, very fun.
SOOOOOO happy i got the MPPSK. huge difference all over from power band/availability, exhaust note, engine, burbles, it's just so hard to think of a build without it. huge difference over the 340s i test drove and mine and that is with just the first 200 miles today. |

Frickin Awesome! -- you put over 200 already? wow you are fast - Got mine yesterday (very similar build) and I agree- absolutely wonderful - so smooth and so much power there - Sport setting is my default. Have to learn how to configure. Steering in Sport is pretty artificial feeling to me- will take some getting used to. Highly recommend the M Performance shift knob and boot. Much nicer feel. Congrats and enjoy!

thinking of doing some coding. are any of you guys going to enhance/modify code of vehicle? yes steering is pretty loose even in sport and doesn't inspire confidence especially in high speed turns. i dont have that razor sharp response like i did with the subie's 13:1 ration rack and some steering rack bushings. there seems to be a good amount of slop in the wheel which kind of sucks but i'll get used to it. i have an 8AT not 6MT. thank you for the suggestions, though. |

it's remarkable and don't think i could do this car without it now. it's also very nice it's very uncommon on these cars so folks have no idea what's going on when they hear it. but the driving experience is a stark contrast to that of a "regular" 340 (w/o mppsk) which i'm happy about because i really needed some more umph and i got it. i think with a dinan elite for mppsk would be more than enough power/torque for this build as a dd when the stock mppsk levels get boring.

i think that car is still working itself out and learning tables and the tune. i was talking with a couple other members that had the same feeling getting their car recently. the powerband seems wonky and inconsistent. shifts are not always crisp with the 8AT and can be jerky. transient boost response isn't as responsive between shift as the test drives i had were. so hopefully with a few weeks things "settle in" more and car only gets better

another interesting tid bit is that my trunk is opening on it's own a few times a day. i also confirmed this with the remote off my person. i thought it was clicking the button in my pocket but not the case. i can have the remote sitting on a desk and the trunk may pop open. i noticed it popped open three times within five minutes just me standing next to the car with the fob in my hand so i know i didn't depress it.
looked it up online and seems like a very common issue going back to at least 2015 and looks hundreds of folks. odd thing is i did not see a single person mention taking it to a dealer or post a solution other than using a key fob case (bulky) or decoding trunk release with kick (folks without comfort access also reported the issue so not sure why this would work). i'm going to bring it up to my dealer because i really don't like coming out from the mall to a parking lot and an open trunk for no reason. |

mine did this once yesterday when I was washing it. I thought it was the sensor under the bumper triggered by the hose I was using. The trunk does have that opening function - ie your foot waved under the bumper opens the trunk. Maybe it can be turned off. Just a guess that this is the issue. I could be wrong. Dude I thought you got the 6MT! - the 8AT is supposed to be a perfect match tho so no big deal - But I am enjoying the manual. Last one before they all go bye bye |

no sir, i've had manuals most of my life and am finding them a bit tired for a daily driver. just personal preference and my experience with the 8AT that i test drove left a favorable impression especially with paddle shifters
