I voted to remain, by a small margin. But now we've voted to leave, I'm actually quite comfortable with it. Infact after seeing the news the way those EU officials cold-shouldered Mrs May, we need to get out this self protectionist club at pace that suits us.
If we sold more goods to the EU than we buy from them, then I'd be more concerned about losing our EU market stall, but I'm as confident as an ordinary citizen can be that we'll cope fine in the global market. Not bothered that we're not getting a running commentary on matters. It's probably in our best interests to give Brussels zero information. |

One of the things that really pisses me off is that people seem to imply certain specifics about exactly what was voted for when, in fact, all we voted for was to leave the EU.
For example; "We voted to lower immigration." No we didn't. We voted to leave the EU. "We voted to leave the single market." No we didn't. We also didn't vote to stay part of the single market. "We voted to stay in the customs union." No we didn't. We also didn't vote to leave it. "We don't want free movement of people." That's not necessarily what we voted for either. The problem is, we voted on one single question that now leaves 101 other unanswered questions. Therefore, as good members of a democracy, and as we can't really have 101 additional referenda, the only way we can proceed is to allow the currently elected government to make these decisions for us. (And on a separate point where people complain that Theresa May doesn't have a mandate - yes she does - in this country we elect a party to govern, not an individual) On the immigration point, for example, the current government was elected with a pledge in their manifesto to reduce immigration to 10's of thousands. Therefore that is what they must do (regardless of how stupid and populist that pledge was IMO) On the other 100 points, I bet there are different arguments to all of these unanswered questions going on in government. They'll come up with a plan (they'll have to), but I can believe that these arguments are still going on deep inside number 10. |

Okay, the conservative government are seen as the party for being responsible for leaving and will be the party taking the UK out of Europe.
Historically, this would result in a protest vote against the current in place party. However, who exactly would the protesting remainers vote for? Labour are falling faster than VW shares after Diesel gate. The Libs.... lol yeah, do they actually have MPs. So, erm UKIP ? Very much doubt it. So who does a remainer vote for? |

Well, the lib dems may see a bounce back, but not enough to make any difference.

Should include the honeymoon. Believe it or not the *average* wedding is £24k these days! We spent significantly less, had a great time, and plenty of cash left over!

So would a liberal bounce?
It is something that could be tried, push from couple floors up and see if they can actually bounce back. Odds on Nick Clegg from say 5 floors? How much bonceability? And then you could try that other lib ...erm. You know the one? |

To get it back on topic... Are we not waiting for other EU countries to carry out general election (France, Spain, Italy and possibly Germany) before we start negotiations so we know who we are going to be negotiating with?
Obviously I hope they are putting a plan/strategy in place now! Even though I do believe we won't be leaving the EU any time soon. Off topic bit:- is the 3 months before or after tax?? We are not going mad but having a about 70-80 folk attending a Scottish country house in Perthshire (I'm Scottish and she is English and Miss 430GH wanted a Scottish wedding with me in a skirt) Right you lot get back to shouting and swearing at each other |

Why? I'll still be voting Conservative, at least right now. The majority of all politicians were remain, including the Conservatives. They are just acting on the public referendum as they should, but it certainly wasn't what they planned!
