Parking sensors not working
Hello, I have a 2014 328i xDrive and all of the parking sensors completely stopped working. I have the smaller screen without nav or a backup cam so there is no pdc button. There is also no pdc volume in the settings. All of the sensors used to work fine. None of them tick when I put my ear up to them. Anyone know why? I checked all the fuses that seemed to be for the sensors and they were fine. I am also wondering if these sensors were retrofit since I bought the car used, or if they are stock. Thanks!

Do a VIN check on the car to see what it was equipped with. I didn't order PDC, it came with the rear view camera. I can't say if it was available without it. However, the actuator button is even labeled PDC, so if you don't have the button I'm inclined to think yours isn't OEM. The intent of the switch is to turn on the PDC when you're pulling into a parking space and need to know the distance to an object/car in front of you.

I looked at the 2014 3-series pricing guide and the PDC option only came with the driver assistance package which included the rear camera, so it isn't OEM

That's true. It did help if I was trying to get really close to a car in front of me or when reversing just because the tone frequency would change as you got closer.
