Scathing Review of the Stunning Audi Q8
Full disclosure... No hater here. I actually strongly considered one for the Mrs recently. But I opted to get a ridiculously loaded out X5 Xdrive50i instead. Still, it is a gorgeous vehicle IMO. And the interior is very nice. It is, however, cramped inside for the amount of girth it has outside. And then there's the driving:
https://techcrunch.com/2019/06/10/re...breaking-flaw/ There's a new Audi dealer near me so naturally, I see them regularly. Anyone here consider one? Curious about your opinions... |

If I had to guess he didn't just leave it in Dynamic and played around with Eco and Normal. Our Audi just gets left in Dynamic where it's perfectly happy. Those other modes have been forgotten about.

Theres a guy with a blacked out Q8 at my gym. One of the sexiest cars I've seen.
I really doubt people are buying Q8's for their driving capabilities or feel. As someone else said, I'm sure the dynamic mode/sport mode fixes many of the issues |

FYI.... Multiple Car Reviews and Editors have voiced the same issues as above. So it's no isolated problem.
And if spending upward of $80--$90k (optioned correctly), you bet 6 your ass I want "Driving Dynamics" at the top of my list along with sexy good looks. |

I love the look of these, they capture your attention on the street. I'd be interested in test driving one, I always liked driving my dad's S4

For some reason they also have no full leather dash option, which would make a massive difference in the luxury feel of the car....considering its competition has this available, I think Audi made a big mistake not offering it. Maybe they will in the future. The interior is really nice. Car feels like it sits very high when you get inside it, kinda strange, but I liked it overall....didn't get to drive it though.

The Q8 and new Touareg share the same platform. I came from the previous Touareg and wanted the next gen, but unfortunately not available in the US, so I went with M-B.
The previous Touareg and related Q7 were for sure not roomy compared with the exterior dimensions. The door trim stack up was pretty wide. Seems VW have carried on this tradition in the latest versions. I like the Audi navigation system but the BMW iDrive is class leading imo. |

Apparently Audi has heard the "interior complaints".
This is some new Q8 model showcased recently in Germany. Definitely on the right path! |

That is a significant step up from the prior model Q7.

Yeah, saw one a few days ago. Chock me up with the "I don't get it" crowd. Looks like a station wagon that is trying not to be a station wagon. Just give me the RS6 Avant and stop sending bullshit like this over the shores.

I really like how it looks. The Q7 is so ubiquitous and boring to look at, this is a breath of fresh air in comparison.
My gripe with Audis is always their driving dynamics. Even when the resolve this transmission issue, it will still have pretty lifeless steering. But that has become the norm for this segment, the Cayenne and X5 are no different.
