403m aftermarket rims?
Hello,
I would like to purchase the BMW 403m rims, and was looking for aftermarket copies of it. However, I haven’t been able to find one and was wondering if anyone knows of a brand/model that does make it? Thanks |

If you can find used OEM wheels I'd do that, but it's rare for someone to be local |

The price of some OEM wheels are ridiculous, so I don’t blame anyone to go down the Rep route. Paint can sometimes be an issue though, I will say. |

Here is the link from Mercedes test lab for OEM vs replica wheels, you'll be the judge.

Apologies, I didn’t realise you said used OEM. I do see and understand your points made and for course OEM is going to be better but honestly, I’ve not had issues with reps... maybe I’ve just lucky 👍

Bias means this could have been one out of hundreds of tests that they found a way to make reps look bad. You cannot have an unbiased opinion with a biased source as your only one.

 I realize you want to see conspiracies in everything , but Occam's Razor prevails. Most times the simplest explanation is correct. And it's pretty obvious. There is a reason why forged wheels cost about 3x what cast wheels costs. And despite what you might think, replica wheels are not tested at all. They are a simple cheap imitation. |

And, 3x(more like 4x) for the 0.1% chance I run into a pothole like that in my life? I could run into that pothole 8 times before I break even with OEM? Obviously, frustrating along the way- but that would never happen. TBH you've more convinced me more towards reps being a good idea than a bad one. So thank you. |

Original BMW Light Alloy Wheels are not approved for sale until they pass the service life test on the ZWARP and exceed TÜV Standards. Some people like to live a clueless life. Just make sure your insurance is up to date so you'll be covered when you loose control. If that's what you trust on the road, more power to you. |

As for your edit, again - there are no 403 reps I could find. As for passing two very german sounding tests - can you find american car manufacturers wheels passing these tests? |

There are threads and pics. Most American Cars Manufacturers test to these standards and others as they know what will happen to their sales if the put inferior wheels on cars. |

I searched, found no results of an accident due to replica wheels failing, as you state will happen to anyone who uses them. As for #2, source? It looks to be nothing more than a european equivalent of JWL. Replicas may very well pass them, too, considering they pass JWL |

Wow...less than 13 minutes and you examined every thread in replicas and found nothing. Then declared it's not there. 2) Please search about Automotive regulations of Car Companies vs After Market Parts before continuing your insanity. TÜV is a standard for aftermarket parts, btw, if you bothered to search. Again, show me where replicas meet those standards. 3) Please post where any BMW replicas have been tested and certified to pass any Standards (If you can even find the name of the "counterfeiter", err, replicas). Hard to outlaw counterfeit parts anyway you look at it. Some people have no regard for their safety. |
