335i Xdrive Suspension
I'm looking at purchasing a 2013-2015 335i Xdrive and while doing my research I've found a lot of complaints about the suspension. Specifically the wheel gap and the ride. Is there an aftermarket suspension that will work with Xdrive and will it improve the wheel gap(looks of the car)? I would be willing to tolerate the ride, but I'm more concerned about the vehicle's appearance.

if you lower the front of x-drives too much, it changes the half shaft angles which puts more stress on the axle and may cause a shear failure. it also pulls the shaft out of the joint slightly too where they could pop out. the consensus is to limit x-drive front lowering to 40mm.
imo, Eibach pro-kit 5-22 springs with Koni SA dampers and F80 bumpstops seem to be the optimum x-drive spring/damper combination for x-drives, like here... https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...1901058&page=2 another option is KW street comfort coilovers, which do not go too low and have a great ride for a coilover. this will cost a bit more than the koni/eibach setup. the suspension sub-forum has all information you need. you'll have to become informed there. |

I have the Eibach 6-22 kit installed with Bilstein B4s (EDC), F80 bumpstops & 10F/12R spacers.
