328i or used 535xi??
I live in Canada and i have ordered a 328i sport line. Sadly, variable handing, sport tranny, and sport suspension are not available on this car. It is already fully loaded.
Today i saw a used 2011 535xi 7000kms fully loaded with m-package; therefore, it has adaptive suspension, 8 speed auto tranny, and everything that comes with m package. Both cars' prices are very close. I am just wondering which one everybody would pick? Need Advice from you guys. Thank you! |

Anyway my answer would be: I might end up with the F30 because you're going with the 335i. If you can wait and get the M Sport on the F30, I'd wait!!! That's what I'm doing!!! ...and the wait really hurts!! :

This one is easy. My father-in-law has the '11 335 you're looking at. We just drove the 3 Series on Thursday....and says he wishes he got the 3. I agree. The 5 is too big and lumbering. It's just not the same car.

I would be leaning towards the 535xi.
I wasn't impressed with the 335i Sport Line after my test drive. The car has good power and the 8 speed transmission is amazing. But honestly the suspension feels really soft for a sports sedan. The 328i has even less power compared to the 335i. Maybe the M Sport Package would change that, until then I am not too impressed. The F10 535 with M Sport package is without a doubt the better looking car. The interior is not as funky as the new 328, but it instantly feels like a more expensive car. Personally I would be leaning towards the 535xi myself. My concern with a used 535 would be how it was driven. Most likely without proper break-in and cooling before shutdown the car. In the long run I would be worried about the engine components especially premature failure on the turbo. But if you are leasing or don't plan on keeping the car for long, then who care. |

On the other hand, if you like hitting the curves often or even having track days, then it's F30 for you To me it seems awesome that you can actually get the 5 that you described for the same $$$, if wish i had the same option

Words cannot express how much. Even worse is not knowing what the M-Sport package price will be priced at.

I'm thinking it's an easy $3k extra on top of all the other options. If its more, then I'm gonna have to think seriously coz I don want to be spending close to the M3 price tag and end up with something less. Plus the M335i is also due soon, so we'll have to wait and see... :

I have decided to go with 328i since it's 400 pounds lighter than 535i, and 328i has better mileage anyway. I just hate the fact that i am not able to get m-package now. i guess i will have retrofit the kits later. And, my wallet will be the victim.

I was going to say, kind of a tough choice but after reading this:
I think you made the right decision by going for the new F30
