The standard servotronic steering does firm up in sport mode. I'm embarrassed to say quite noticeably when you're paying attention. Still quite light by comparison with the e9x though.

Dropped by the dealer this morning and took a 328i Luxury for a spin. Before that, I took my car around a test area, and did a couple of laps in comfort then sport. Did the same with the Luxury and then took my car around again just to confirm any difference. This is my own personal opinion and I might be imagining it, but I thought there was a slight difference. The Luxury felt slighter heavier in comfort than mine, however mine was slighter heavier in Sport. I only really noticed it when I turned the wheel more and I could feel more weight or resistance. Anyway, these are my thoughts and observations and others might have a different experience ....
Sorry to your thread dcg71, you can do the same to mine if you like! |

lol.. no worries blt
I tried the following a couple of times - change from comfort to sport while jiggling the wheel slightly, and while cruising along at about 40kmph. I can feel it get firmer. |

Hey, congrats sherweeny! I remember your e46 on e46fanatics. Nice car
Good choice, black on black is classic if you ask me. I'm still really loving the interior of this car. The red highlights and stitching compliment the black nicely. And the black hi gloss trim, while it sounds like a lot of black, goes really well. Just don't leave it parked in the sun too much! Anyway, I'll try and rustle up some more pics. |

Oh definitely! Mine was a stock car that had just hit the country also and was the exact interior and exterior I wanted, just didn't have a few things I wanted like HUD etc but had other stuff I didn't want like comfort access. Was close enough and looking at yours makes me feel much better.
Ps not going to lie but m sport exterior plus our interiors would be perfect... Might need to fork out a bit for exterior parts a couple years down the track! |

Ahhh you are a champion!!!
That is absolutely gorgeous! With regard to the steering wheel and shifter being silver, is that as noticeable in real life, or is it just a photo thing? Why couldn't the tightasses piano black them too? I don't know why but I really like the hexagonal centre console. What's the pro nav like? How are you connecting your phone to it? Yeah maybe we can whack on a cheap msport bumper later and nudge slow cars out of the way not caring about slight damage |

Yeah, the silver is silver, but it doesn't look too bad at all in real life. Ties in with the other satin chrome bits around the aircon and other buttons. They probably could have kept going with the trim. I guess they want us to upgrade to performance steering wheels and gear selectors.
Phone just hooks up via bluetooth. The prof nav is good, quite usable, and a big improvement over the prof nav in the e92. Some of the office functionality is still lacking depending on your phone. BMW are still releasing updates which can be installed through the glovebox usb, so hopefully well see some progress. Not particularly sure I want to read emails in my car anyway |
