For example I can see big difference between e60, which I had in 2004 and f10, which I have now. F10 got much nicer interior, bigger screen (navi prof on of them), electronic handbrake, full LED tail lights, LED angel eyes etc. So far I cant see this difference between my e92 and f32 FEP. I hope those regular bulbs in tail lights are only on prototype, but production car will get full LED tail lights. Those are details we can see and if BMW use dated technology for tail lights (even e46ci LCI had newer tail lights technology than f32 FEP), how can we know they are offering us latest technology and not only new design with old tech? Also it doesnt make sense that they show stunning concept with great tech, and then they would offer dated regular bulbs in production version.

Sorry but why show the concept SO FAR from the real one. I mean at least keep the concept's headlights. This just looks like a 2dr F30.

When E92 was released, the front and back looked very different than E90 of the time and I wish they'd continue that.

Just MHO.

These are probably the stock headlights (xenon) and it's good the angel eyes are squared off, unlike the 6 Series which has old round angel eyes on its xenon headlights! Like the 6er, the 4er should get optional LED headlights + 3D angel eyes like the related Concept, i.e. hexagonal and linked to the grill
Maybe I'm the only one but I like the e92 lights much better. The full led coronas are very distinctive and really make it stand out from every other manufacturer - even from a distance. Making what distinguishes you smaller and smaller seems backwards to me, especially for a luxury brand.

nothing like concept. I smell disappointment after seeing the concept. I want new 4 to stand out and be aggressive or I stay with 335is for long time.

I think the car will look good even without the bumpers, wheels, mirrors and door handle of the concept.

I don't understand why BMW released the concept version of this unless it was to gauge reaction and allow time for some changes to be made. It's going to make for a lot of dissapointed people ..."look at what you could have had" unless they are careful this might not be the most sensible reveal ever. The jury is out for me, fingers crossed it just doesn't end up being a 2 door, 3 series.

No LED taillights on a pre-production model doesn't say anything about the availability of them on the final production model. They need to drive out in the real world for a lot of tests, but what tail lights are mounted isn't essential for that. They of course also have cars in Munich that do look exactly like the final version, but they are kept very, very secret.

Hey Jono,

Sorry for slow reply was travelling on business.

I have a few reasons I will not consider a car without LED brake lights. In no particular order:

1. Safety - LED lights illuminate faster, are brighter, and more even. Small difference but a step in the right direction.
2. Aesthetics - To me, a brighter, cleaner, more modern look.
3. Value -The only reasons F30s do not have LED lights is for BMW to make easy changes for the LCI. BMW knows this makes a difference in many buyers' minds. Planned Obsolescence at its finest given that E92s have had LEDs since the LCI.
4. Technological progress - As you mentioned yourself, LEDs are not a big deal. Premium brands should be using cost-effective premium technology. LED certainly fits this description.
5. Longer life. Never had to change any of the LEDs in any of the cars I've owned. My stupid halogen Halo lights? Changed each side once already in 2 years, of course at different times, and paid labor to take the car apart to change an obsolete technology. LED halos? Reduce this PITA a lot. Sure, LEDs might be more, but given the cost of labor involved for those of us who do not DIY, it's not a significant issue.

So...there is why I will not buy a car without LED lights!
