New problem with my brand new F30!!
Another issue just occurred today after I park the car in my garage. My front passenger side hood won't close completely, driver side is perfectly closed with no gap at all. I smashed hood couple times it still won't close, and the gap is huge I can put my index finger in there. I guess the latch for the passenger side hood is broken. Any of you know what's wrong with it??

Not that I'm going to be able to give you any insight into what's wrong (def take it back to dealer ASAP) but presumably you've opened/closed the hood before and it's been ok?

Same thing happened to mine! I tried opening and closening it multiple times. I finally gave up and made an appt with the dealer. Well in between that appt was my appt withthe tint shop. When I picked my car up
My hood was flush again. The tint shop said they didnt do anything to it...just openend it and shut it. I reopened the hood and shut it myself and the hood stayed flush. Lesson to be learned here is just make an appt and the issue will resolve itself. Same happened with my squeaky brakes...that seemed to disappear on its own as well. Goodluck. |

When I was picking up my F30 last week, my CA made specific mention of closing the hood. He said always close it from the center....dont push down on either side. Now I haven't messed with getting under the hood yet, but I find it interesting that he made sure to say that to me, and now seeing the issues some of you have had with this.

Remember guys it takes two pulls on the latch to open it so make sure you close it tight by pushing down with pressure because there 2 stage anchors.

Yes, I opened front hood last weekend, and that was the first time I opened it since I took the delivery. I am pretty sure it has been opened and closed for many times during the delivery too.

I guess that's what exactly happened to mine. I slamed it hard this morning, and it shuts with no problem. Do I really have to close it like that every single time? I feel like I was trying to break the hood. lol

I wasn't pushing it down to close it. I did let it drop to close, but I guess it just wasn't dropped high and hard enough to catch the double latch.

Same happened to me. I tried the gentle "pushing" on it technique and that didn't work. I slammed it, and it worked. I think this is one of those peculiarities of this car.

Same thing happened to me just after I picked up my car. I too thought something was wrong until I tried again by slamming it shut and all was fine again.
