My AH3
I officially purchased my 2013 AH3 last week . Im still on my first tank of gas with a little less than 1/4 tank remaining. Drove 340 miles since last Wed. 3/27 - I can probably go another 60-70 miles, so round-a-bout 400 miles first full tank, Im impressed. I mostly drive it in EcoPro mode, but still get on it every now and again.
Glacier Silver with Black Leather M Sport Driver Assist Tech Pkg Prem Pkg HK Sound Sport Auto Black Kidney Grills Free Htd steering wheel, Rear shade and Lane Departure I have some Breyton GTP Wheels in my garage from a previous car that I may put on it. I have also ordered painted roof and trunk spoiler for it. DJ

Purchased My ActiveHybrid 3 2 weeks ago, couldn't be happier with it. I seem to be alone in understanding the purpose of it, but I am not looking back!
I did also de-badge the car all around, I don't care what people think really and for me coming from an M3/M5, AH3 would have been perfect for me, so now its nothing lol Last edited by milaad.naderi; 04-24-2013 at 10:37 AM.. |

I just got the blacked out BMW Cover for the back. I haven't got a chance to take many pics. But I will have to post more soon.

I think it's so funny you're coming from an M3/M5 to an AH3, talking about complete 180! Gas binging to gas sipping indeed...

I love this car and the technology with all the ways it can save gas, although I miss the old raw feel of cars.

Recently I've gotten more interested in the AH3, a couple of questions I had for owners: I've seen the majority of people that have the AH3 really love it, but I have seen a few mentions of the braking, that it takes more force to brake with the AH3 then the standard 335, anyone experienced this?
How about transition between the electric and combustion engine, any issues where they may have been out of sync or not smooth switching between each other? Thanks !

Electric only and combustion transitions (and combo mode) are remarkably smooth. Only sometimes when the engine shuts off at a stop there is a slight shudder, but I guess that is just part of ASS. |

What do your vehicle info/sport display show for hp and trq? The 335 has 320 hp max and 320 trq limits on the sport display .The activehybrid 3 being 335hp/332trq should have sport displays that indicate higher than 320/320 limits.Maybe 360/360 on the sport chrono

Mine shows 400/400.
The AH3 has a feeling of tremendous power-in everyday driving the acceleration is very strong but effortless, no upshifts or high revs, just strong and quiet with the sense that if really pushed there is almost an endless amount of power in there-and that's in comfort mode. It's kind of 'twitchy' in Sport as it reacts so quickly to small throttle inputs. I really enjoy the car, the only time the ASS bothers me is coming up to a red light or an intersection, just come to a stop or near stop and engine shuts off only to restart a second later with a jolt as you give it gas. In stop and go traffic I put the shift lever into 'sport D' mode as that defeats ASS but this also brings more aggressive shift points-I would like to be able to defeat the engine shut down while in Comfort mode but only for when at idle: while driving the engine shuts off from time to time and is not even noticeable except for the tach dropping to 'ready'. |

I rarely use the sport display, so I don't have a good answer for you. However, I'll try to pay attention this week. |

Your going to love it. My wife has not driven it yet in a month but likes that I'm up for a 20 mile drive to dinner or the store...
Mine is Black Sapphire, this car looks great in it. I did the grey seats/black piping though. Great choice on options. The HK initially did not sound as good as I thought it should, it takes a few days of loud music to break the speakers in, there are some equalizer setting in the Audio Forum which I prefer then it sound terrific. I'm seeing 38mpg when I have an open road, 40-42 when on 2 lane roads at 55 and no traffic, 31mpg so far on this 3rd. tank which is about a 50/50 open road/city driving. First 2 tanks were about 28mpg but that had a lot of sport mode checking it out. |

FWIW, for the last two tanks, I've been running an experiment I like to run with all my cars: Driving in the worst (but still more or less legal) way possible, how bad can I get my fuel economy over the course of one full tank?
On a tank that was 20% highway 80% city, that was 23.3 mpg. On a pure city tank, that was 21.2mpg. The general rule was to take off at WOT or almost WOT from every light, WOT to 70mph on every onramp, take every opportunity to pass people going under the speed limit, as well as running the A/C on as high as possible... Overall I'm pretty pleased with these results -- my 21.2mpg tank also included 2 hours of sitting in Park waiting for a friend, running the A/C in 80 degree weather. In contrast, when I ran the same experiment on my Audi A4 2.0T, I was able to get down to 14mpg. Overall, I'd have to say no matter how you drive this car, you'll get very good fuel economy for the way you're driving it. Those who drive a lot of city miles will see the most benefit from the hybrid system. I'd say the practical "what to expect" fuel economy of this car is something like: Worst case: 20mpg Average case: 26-28mpg Trying really hard: 32-34mpg I've just hit 7000 miles, and I'm seeing a stabilizing average of 26.8mpg. |

This is what I see over a full tank for daily commute of 50mi. In my e90 N54, I got 24mpg for 15% city, 85% hwy. This one I get 30mpg for same driving style. Did an experiment to accelerate a little slower and saw 31, but not worth it. The f30 335i would probably see 27mpg for same conditions. Also, useless info from hand-waving people posting their ephemeral instantaneous mileages.
