I don't say this in an argumentative tone, i just don't understand why people aren't allowed to complain and are instantly insecure if they do.

As an e92 owner I really really wish I could feel this way about the Fx. I really need a f31.....
But I've driven 4 different f30s....including the last one which was a 335 given to me for four days by BMW to convince me to get the new car.....and when I took the f30 back and jumped into my 3 year old e92.....it felt like that was the far better car. Glad you guys love your cars! I think it is something that takes an amusement too. Just wish it offered a eye popping feeling of "this new tech and car renders the old obsolete". At best, it offers some improvements on some things, and a vague feeling BMW isn't what it used to be. |

My 2012 F30 335i has been problem free. I think that the fit and finish is way beyond what the E90 offered. I paid 2,000 less for my F30 but gained so much more in refinement of the interior and overall looks. Plus, the paint is 1000x more durable than my E90 or E60. I do a huge amount of highway driving and I don't have any chips at 25000 miles on my F30. All cars are BSM.

My guess is they will have to punch up the interior quality before the mid life cycle update. This might be enough to have me take a look at an Audi after having 4 BMWs.

Was excited yesterday that I got a 328 loaner but after an hour of driving, had the loaner car for 9 hrs total, I couldn't wait to get my e90 335i back. It was apparent that BMW skimped out on the interior cutting down the whole quality of the car. Was impressed with the responsiveness and Eco mode technology on the turbo 4, but it wasn't cutting it for me, it was a boring car. Makes me wonder how the new f30 m3 will be like now .. i better be blown away once it comes out.

To say that the interior of the F30 is a step down from the e90 is pushing it though. Aside from the hard plastic around the shifter, the interior is in no way inferior to the e90 in terms of material and amenities. And, as much as I like the e90, the dashboard was...well...pretty ugly. F30 is much nicer IMO. |

Personally I could care less what others think of the F30, I'm happy with my car and that's all that matters to me.
Don't really understand why some people get so worked up about other people's opinions.

Steering is a no-brainer. E90 felt more connected to the road. Putting the car in Sport mode does tighten up the steering on the F30 so it closes the gap but E90 wins the steering category. But that's it - in every other area, the F30 excels. And I love my F30 - would never for a second consider trading it back for my E90... and I loved my E90 as well. |

I too expect to receive what I've paid for. But I'm also realistic about it. In your example of a poorly prepared steak, I would not get "upset" per se. I'd express my dislike and wait for the restaurant to make amends. I recognize the fact that nobody is perfect and folks can occasionally have an off day. It seems many people these days have lost this ability and immediately jump to the "upset" stage while simultaneously spouting off on the internet to tell the world how horrible xxx is. Then they feel bad when someone tells them their xxx is a piece of crap. |

IMHO the F30 is a great car. I'm having some issuse at the moment but my 335i Xdrive is amazing to drive. I have driven other 3's and I can tell you that even the steering issue is over-blown. You feel the road it just not as sharp in terms of feedback, thats not to say ther is no feed-back. the car still handles very well and when you put it on the line it holds. The 8 Speed is super fast and is paired well to the engin. E9X owners have the expected resistence to change and a sense of nostalgia about thier cars. It is understandable, the E9X's are great car. There will be alot of first-time BMW owners that will love their F30's who will have never driven the E9x's, the comparrison's are mute, they judge the current car on it's merits alone void of comparrison.

The hard plastic you see by the shifter is the same as the one used in the X5. So BMW uses this same set up for pricier cars. In the FXX and the X5 that is the only place I see a "hard plastic" The X5 even with that "hard plastic" has an interior that cannot be matched by the E90s, just not at the same playing level. Hopefully this will help in putting things into perspective IRO of "hard plastics".

I agree with you that people like complaining sometimes quickly and start acting entitled. But I will say though that (back to my steak analogy) if said steak was touted as the Ultimate Steak and advertises itself as the best in town and you pay a premium for it, it is expected to better than the Outback down the street. Saying "s*it happens" is fine I think to a degree, and yes, I agree with you whole heartedly that people have off days and need some slack. But that is fine and dandy assuming the things you're paying for cost the same. When the higher priced product has the same or less quality than a lower priced one, people have the right to get upset. "50K" has nothing to do with it either. it could be one thing being 10 bucks breaking more than one being 2 bucks. There's nothing wrong with getting upset over that.

No, it became silly once people disregarded the OP's intentions/question and decided to use this thread as a "I'm an E9X owner, driven X amount of F30's and in that 30 minutes I've decided that this car is ....".
