Cool. Do you know if 6MT cars are available for the M class?

Last time I looked the 1M was the only one with a MT, the others had the autos. But I think they no longer use the 1M so they're all Autos I'm guessing (it looks like they quit using the 1's sometime in 2012 with the M6 replacing it).
And you can do 1 day M school, i was wrong earlier, just checked, but no one that attended the 2 day would recommend the 1 day from what I've heard. Here is a good writeup: http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=795938 Last edited by tdizzle; 05-22-2013 at 01:14 PM.. |

That's correct, no manuals for M-school I guess not many people know how to properly drive a manual these days. So the 1Ms that they used to have were beaten/abused and they decided not to carry manuals anymore.

I wouldn't bother with the M Driving School, just do local events thru your CCA.. much cheaper, and not stuck with whatever loaner they give you. 1200mi/month isn't really a ton for an M3, but no doubt the fuel costs could get to you after awhile. As for insurance costs for 2 cars that someone posted about "not being able to afford", erm.. wtf? It's virtually always cheaper to insure 2 cars as a single person. You get a discount for having more cars than drivers. What sucks is adding the 3rd vehicle and getting hit for the full bill for that extra vehicle! Getting a DD is a fine idea; you can get pretty damn nice cars for under 10k. The Miata is my "beater" but it's a fun car, and makes driving the M even more special. |
