Coilovers Option
Hi,
My 335i is currently lowered on the H&R Sport Springs. I love the drop and the ride is great. However in order to do some track events and also to keep my car in top shape, I'm considering getting some Coilovers. Here are my options: 1.) BC Racing 2.) KW 3.) H&R 4.) Eibach Pro Street 5.) CKS 6.) M Performance Suspension??? Can u fellow enthusiasts give me an honest opinion of which of the above would be my best bet? I don't want more drop than the H&R Sport springs I currently have. I need something thats comfortable and makes me feel connected to the road. The BC Racing ones are the cheapest but I understand from some local drivers that they aren't the "best" in terms of long usage; what I mean is you may not get several years out of them. So guys please give me a suggestion and a solid reasoning. Cost is also important to me coz I need a BBK too. But I'd prefer getting the Coilovers first. Thanks in advance!

Hey, I thought you said you don't drive your car much or track it?

If you are doing just occasional HPDEs and want to keep a nice street comfort, I would say the KW for sure. If you are really serious about track performance, you should definitely wait. All the options you listed have progressive springs, which are not nearly as good on track as linear springs. AST, KW Clubsport, TC Kline and other higher end systems will be coming out over the next year. All of these have linear springs and will be much more competent on track. However, they will likely not be as compliant on the street as say a KW Variant. It really all depends on your priorities.

The CKS are the only ones with their own camber adjustment top plates. Although that is still only for the front it's more than the others give. They are also sold with swift springs which you are able to spec in any spring rate you like. The dampers can also be ordered with specific calving if you want. I don't sell anything they are just the only ones in my research that have all of the above functionality

I think TC Kline coilovers, which get very good reviews, may be out within a month or so. If you can wait, they would be a good option.

Function-auto coilovers is coming out with some for our cars. I'm doing beta-testing for them in a few weeks.

I'm not sure if you got your coilovers yet, since I'm in the market as well I've been asking around. Overall you should expect 50-70k miles on the top of the line coilovers (still better than stock). With that said, I think I'm leaning towards based on cost:
1. H&R 2. BC Racing 3. M Performance suspension. |
