I have Esys 3.22.5 and 50.4 PSdZdata.
Is it possibile to use it on Win7 64 Bit or Win7 32 bit ?
Thanks

Hi Shawn,

I don't quite understand the link between versions of e-sys and PSdZData.
Say I have e-sys 3.22.5. Will it always be compatible with any newer versions of PSdZData?

I just want to ensure that if I buy an e-sys version (token etc.), I won't have to buy a new version every now and again.

Thanks for you answer!

Yes, no problem. It works fine on Win7 or Win8, both 32-Bit or 64-Bit.

Impossible to make that guarantee. It all depends on if BMW makes changes to the PSdZData that necessitate a new Patch. Odds are slim though. It has only occurred one time now in the last 60 versions.

1) You show you drive a 2013 335i M-Sport. If this is what you are connecting too, then F010_13_07_506VehicleInfo=F010 is the wrong Target. Yours should be:

F020_13_07_506VehicleInfo=F020

2) This is wrong:

"Read Parameters from VCM" checked? = YES

"Series, I-step (shipment)" should be checked, with no values in the drop down box.

GAH!

I had been using with "Series, I-step (shipment)" checked. I thought you meant to use the "parameters from VCM".

Regardless, it was F020 vice F010.

Apparently I need to work on my reading comprehension skills. I had it in my mind it was F010 and all the documentation clearly states F020. My humblest apologies.

Coding is now complete, and I feel like an idiot.

Glad the issue is solved. I think though you are not the only one with that issue...

Is there any way to increase the brightness of the interior lighting? I have it set to max in the iDrive menu and its still not very bright, I have noticed that it is also dependent on the dial on the headlight switch assembly, but I don't want to increase that anymore. I would actually love to lock it at 100% the whole time... So has anyone found any codes that pertain to the interior lighting?

Edit: Just to be clear, I'm referring to the ambient lighting when the doors are closed and its dark outside.

Hi Shawn,

thanks for your answer! And are there significant improvements from one e-sys version to the other?

Not really. I would only update if I had no choice, or my EST Token was expired, and I needed another one.

Awesome, thanks so much!

The next request is Follow Me Home lights, IE: a short tap on the trunk button will turn the xenon's on for a few seconds.

Guys I get this error for some ECUs. Does this mean I need the new data file? I checked it and the file is not in the data file I have.

Well, it means you at least need that CAFD, but maybe you need the complete PSdZData too.

What PSdZData version are you using, and what is your current I-Step?

PSdZData 49.4. I downloaded 50.4 from the ftp but needs a password. It has the data file I need. Can you PM me the password? And will it work just if I copy the CAFD? Or do I need the whole psdzdata replaced? Thanks. Oh and I don't remember my I-Step, I'll check.

Use the entire 50.4 PSdZData. Delete existing PSdZData folder and replace with the new one.

PM sent.

Hi Shawn

I am a newbie to F10's (bought a 2011 535d early this year) and have come across this incredible thread.

I understand i need to get or make the good cable to connect to my car but am a bit unclear so far (didnt read over 200 pages of thread yet) about what software i need, where to get it from or what it costs.

Could you also tell me where to get ISTA from for doing diagnostics, resetting service indicators etc

thanks very much for your help

John

Has anyone coded the headlight washers so they dont spray down the entire hood of the car?
In that case it would be great if you would share an exact how-to on how it was done

Thanks
