Help w/ order timing
I'm currently leasing a '12 328i Sport and I'm thinking of swapping it out on Craiglist and order a 435i M-Sport when the December incentives start.
Questions that are killing me: - Should I first get rid of the 328i lease now and then place an order / get a 435i from the lot in December? Cons: what if I need to order so I'm stuck driving a rental till March??? - Or first get the 4 and only then ditch the 3 leasing? Cons: what if I cannot find someone to take over the lease, and I'm stuck paying an extra lease for a few months? Tough one. I need some 2 cents.

My bet is you will get someone to take over your lease. Thats a good price.
You can order your car, and when it gets close, put your 3 on swapalease. If no one calls you, you don't have to accept the new one. My 2 cents.

First of all, you don't have to wait for December to get December incentives. If you order now 435 you may be lucky to get your car in December. Meanwhile, you can lock any incentives while you're waiting for a delivery. However, I'd not expect a lot of incentives, if any, for 435i
Secondly, there is a middle ground solution for you, order your car now, get a delivery time and then post your car for a swap 4 weeks before a delivery. Keep in mind, if you decide to wait for December, your potential buyer will also know about dealers' incentives, and you would have to make your offer even better to compete. Good Luck! |

A little patience will help you save some money perhaps. When is your lease up?
Can you wait for MY15 4 series?

Thanks for all the advice, you're a great bunch.
My lease would be up in Dec 2015. Too long of a wait with a 4-cil. If the 4 Series won't pan out (no incentives), then I'll just get a 335. I want that 6-cil blurb What I'm hoping in terms of incentives is max $1k down, 12,000 miles / year and max $650 / month w/ taxes included for an MSRP of $57,000. Is this unrealistic?

Don't know and can't imagine how much hit you will take in early lease return. If you are not thinking much about finances, I'd say order a 2014 335i and take delivery in December. Incentives should be still in place and you might walk away with the best possible deal during that time of the year. I think the other member meant $650 is realistic. I think it is! $53k MSRP here, just over $600 a month, with only $1k Ultimate Drive incentive. The deal will sweeten a little more with new October incentive in my case. Let us know what you decide. 335i and 435i lease maybe the same monthly payment, residuals are higher on 4 series!

Sorry, was using voice to text on my new iPhone. I was trying to say the opposite.
It's realistic even under current incentives, which may or may not get better later this year, especially, if you have UDE certificate. I thought August deals for MY2013 were the best, we may not see any better. 63% residual for 15k/36 plus rebates. +1 |

$700 drive off $665 per month including tax (9% tax for me) This also includes a $1,000 drive event credit off the cap cost I think by December a $57,000 car should be doable for $650 per month with tax with $1k down |

Was trying not to make it more confusing.
Loyalty comes off drive off amount (and not as cap cost reduction according to a document my dealer gave me showing where the calculations go as per BMWNA guidelines). I hope that is true. The wording is also different on BMWUSA website, though not very clear. Turn Key is refunded after one month as a check (at least 3 years back it was so). Effectively not changing the actual lease monthly payment. Quote:
Either way, not a good deal by any means! In Socal there are lot of board sponsors which will give you great price. Also, they are rolling in Acquisition Fee into the lease and effectively charging you interest on it. Pay it upfront in the driveoff. It is $725 and anything more goes to dealer, don't pay extra.

Yeah tell me about it, these deals are quite crappy right now, nobody really wants to play ball. I just don't want to look back next summer and regret paying $100 more per month just to get the car a few months early. I think my above quote comes out to only $1,200 off MSRP since I also had the $1,000 cap reduction from BMW drive event |

Perhaps you already know, Drive Event credit is valid only till the end of this month and cannot be locked. Mentions delivery of the vehicle must be taken before Oct 31, except some other cases which have seen production delays and documented and exempted by BMWNA. Honestly, I would wait and order a 2015. You probably will skip the short 1st MY cycle quickly, have issues hammered out from 1st production year, allocations will be better in number, prices a lot more reasonable and maybe you can get a convertible then instead. Better still 4 Grand Coupe would be out too. Drive Credit will be back again next year most likely. You already have sweet ride, there is less reason to pay so much more and be a dealer's catch.
