Visibility Pack
Used visibility pack with the high beam assist for the first time tonight and was amazed as to how much it has moved on with the F30 from the version that I had in my previous F10.
The entertainment value from watching the way the beams move around and split to leave a 'black hole' so as not to dazzle oncoming cars is worth the purchase price alone. Would definitely recommend this option to anyone in two minds as to whether to spec it or not.

Although I'm still I the phase where I get terribly distracted watching my own lights. I just wish they activated at 35mph so they work well in a 40mph limit.... One for the coding list.

Mine has activated a few times on the new stretch of the A46 where the central reservation is solid concrete blocks - had a few angry flashes from oncoming trucks as my car can't "see" their lights but they can sure as hell see mine!
I've largely stopped using the adaptive lights on duals/motorways as a result, and if I do activate them i'm always keeping a finger over the button to shut them down just in case. |

I, basically, have got into the habit of turning the adaptive on when it gets dark (or when I start a journey int he dark) and then leave it on to do its stuff. I've had the odd flash from oncoming traffic, now and again, but, mostly, my lights were not directed at them at the time and I can only assume that they saw that the high beams were being used and so flashed out of habit, in anticipation of being dazzled, as it were… I'll keep an eye out for the sorts of circumstances you describe as we've had the concrete barriers installed around here, as well.. |

How do these cope with continental travel. Is there something you can switch when you go abroad, like in the e92? Anything in the manual about that?

Manual just tells you to not switch it on if you go abroad!

I'm "mildly" impressed by mine. It works fine on the nearside but the offside often stays off when I would expect it to illuminate and seems worse when the road bends. I don't seem to get the defined black box that people have mentioned.
Perhaps I'm expecting too much having read so much on here about how fantastic it is. |

It's great. Just a couple of things to remember.
Certain situations it will struggle, once you know what they are it's easy to flick it off manually. Doesn't work in the rain. |

Actually never tried it in the rain. I have come across a couple of times when the opposite on coming traffic has flashed a few times, which has me thinking the adaptive isn't working quick enough, me being only on the road at the time. I have never switched it off to suit opposite motorway traffic, it's only seconds. Actually adaptive is not really needed on the motorway IMO. Otherwise, certainly entertaining wathching the lights dance about |
