Anyone have issues using Mavericks with VMWare Fusion and coding for our F30s? Have a Mavericks laptop here and planning to use VMWare Fusion using the instructions provided for a Windows 7 VM - let me know.

Finally got the cable so am ready to code my 2014 328d - thanks in advance!

Hi There,

I use Mavericks and Parallels 9 (windows xp vm) and it works perfectly. It should also be fine with Vmware fusion. Just make sure to use a direct bridge to your ethernet interface inside the VM.

You do not need Fusion 6 to be Mavericks compatible. Fusion 5.x with all the latest updates is sufficient. If you have 5.x, just make sure to install the latest update with fixes some issues in Mavericks and you'll be good to go.

I'm not convinced Fusion 6 is worth the upgrade price.

Thanks - that helps a lot. I already have Fusion 6.0.1 so will just use it.

Mavericks works fine with the latest Parallels 8 too, just need to sort the token out!

Wow, I must be old... Is it really this complicated on a Mac?

I have a 2014 335xi on the way & wouldn't mind some changes. Once glance at these posts confirms I haven't a damned clue.

What the hell is a token? Fusion? cables?

Good lord, when did all this become so stupidly complex? Really making me think twice about another BMW--and I've had 5 or 6. They ever more seem to be confusing "high tech" with "why tech". Seems like more to break and go wrong with every iteration.

I have a Macbook pro & iMac, but absolutely no idea how to code. From what little I gather I'd need some sort of Windows emulation program and, of course, Windows. Seems like a lot of BS to go through when I don't have any other need for Windows.

What am I missing? Is it really this complicated? I join those wishing for a step by step how to.
