Seat Heaters

Anybody else think the seat heaters suck on the F30? I have a 2013 328i Msport and it seems like my seat heaters don't get nearly as warm as any other MAKE and model I've ever sat in.

I sat in a friends 2013 528i and the seat heaters burned me they got so hot.

Why would BMW downgrade on the seat heaters for the 3 series?

Really? My ass is on fire after 20 seconds and that is using one bar. It is way better than my old GTP coupe, TSX and my wife's MINI S.

I can say that the seat heaters in my M-sport are weaker than the other ones I've tried:
2009 Infiniti G37S
2011 Infiniti EX35
2010 Cadillac Escalade
2011 MB S63
2013 Kia forte
2010 VW golf

LOL it comes in handy when it gets "cold"

but it seems like wasted money to me.. I tested a similar model at the dealer as I knew BMW service would do the same, but I had to try it for myself.
I was really upset to find this out.

I thought that too when we bought our first BMW that had Cold Weather Package off the lot in 2001. Not only do you need them in the winter, but there are plenty of times the Ice Warning Chime goes off in the morning.

LOL yeah "cold" ! I mean I'm not utterly disappointed with mine, just wish that when it was on max setting it was a little hotter. I could live with it.

Guess it does come in handy ! I was just saying to myself how annoying that Ice Warning chime is for me, it comes on nearly every time I get in my car. I know its bellow freezing I live in Canada for crying out loud ! For those places that aren't accustom to cold weather its a nice little safety feature. Wish I could turn it off. Maybe it can be coded...

Mine work great, no complaints. Gonna be 36 for a high here this Friday, no doubt I'll be using them.

Must be an issue with the seats, I've driven a '13 328i with non leather seats and a '14 335i and 435i with leather seats and all 3 came with heated seats. They were unbearable after about 60 seconds in subzero temps.

You guys must have something wrong with your seats because i find that the f30 seats heat up very quickly and get extremely hot. Cars with heated seats I been in are, mk4,mk5,mk6 gti/golf, 2010 VW cc, 06 g35, 09 g37, multipe MB vehicles and non heat up as fast as the f30 seats.

Agree with those here that they get properly hot and pretty quickly. I can't leave them on 3 bars for long that's for sure.

Have your dealer check them out.

Interesting. As I mentioned above, mine gets HOT on one bar. My wife uses three but not for very long.

Maybe your pants are too thick? Are you wearing long johns?

Mine are not as hot as I remember my 07 mini. I couldn't bare the mini for long on three bars. I never take my 328 off of three bars, it doesn't get hot enough. I seem to recall from the mini forum that in the mini the temperature of the seat was an adjustment the dealer could make or a thermostat that could be replaced. Is that a possibility here?
