So I went car 'window shopping' today ....
First port of call: BMW, Berry, Chiswick.
2 Series in EBII looked divine. Somehow the seats were not as comfortable as my 3 Series. Great experience at my dealer. Also, had an appointment with their 2 Product Genius guys. Really nice and friendly. The moment he saw my car he gleefully uttered the words Superman and brilliant. Lots of lovely cars and lots of potential customers. Tried everything to get email/SMS to work, but it was a no show. All 3 email accounts were undeliverable. Second port of call: VW West London. A bit of a let down. Unfriendly place. After BMW, a bit downmarket. Very comfortable are the new Golfs but they look so ordinary. Left rather quickly as I did not feel welcome. Third port of call: Audi, West London. Boring. Nothing wowed me. Pretty empty. Suddenly felt vey sleepy, so I left with the usual feeling that I felt totally underwhelmed. Fourth port of call: Mercedes Benz, West London. Walked in and walked out as there was nothing in the showroom worth looking at. No latest C Class just tons of A Class versions. Place felt a bit sad compared to the vibrant BMW showroom. Fifth port of call: Halfords. Bought a new Halfords tyre pressure gauge as mine has a dead battery and I could not be arsed to hunt for a new battery. Bought one for £19.99 and it was crap as it did not measure pressure in bar. Lots of pretty lights on it. Sixth port of call: Halfords again. Changed the pressure gauge for Halfords £9.99 version which gives readings in psi, bar and measures tread depth. Excellent and small. Now home alone for a few hours hopefully, writing this thread for you lovely guys and gals.

Drive the M235i... I did today and really liked it!
Rides better than my 335d!

I must admit the 2 Series in M Sport trim is quite a looker. Looked fab in EBII. At first I thought the 4 Series had shrunk. However, the seat was not as comfortable as my F30. Also, a bit tight in the back. But the boot is a good size. I am 6'1/2" (used to be 6'1"), 63 kg (in the nude!,) so pretty slim with a petite posterior, but I felt a bit strangulated in the seat. Really could not get comfortable. Must have another go when I book a test drive soon. I would dearly love to try an M235i and compare it with the M135i, a Golf R and a Seat Leon Cupra 280. (The Audi S3 Sportback is too frumpy looking, so I have for present crossed it off my list).

We had an impromptu bit of garage looking today.
Not for me but for my better half. While she is not due a new car just yet (definitely not before I get mine lol), she wants one this summer ideally, So visited audi, she likes TT (it's a woman's car after all) and S1, also popped in to BMW, it's next door, nice Z4 in Valencia orange. Nothing at Mercedes. However she also likes new Seat as well. I can see this getting pricey, I was expecting a fiesta or corsa for her lol. |

A tight fanny can afford to be fussy.

Window shopping in a BMW garage is a bit dangerous. I've done that twice to while away time while the misses was out and came back with new cars…..

I find BMW car configurator more dangerous, like playing Monopoly with an estate agent.

Maybe an M235i. If only the M135i had a better snout like that of the M235i.
Or, an M2?
