Yes, that is correct. Restore FA to original, add HO-Word = HIFI, then VO Code HU and Amp (Right-Click ECU => Code).

Hello, I had my 2013 F30 328i (US) coded (with e-sys 3.22.5 & psdzdata 2.49.4) about two years ago. Now it will have its first service in July (yes, I didn't drive it much). I was told they will re-program the car. Does any one know what is fixed or added by this new sw? If it is not necessary I will choose not to re-program it. If it can not be avoided, what will I need for re-coding? Is it going to be more difficult than before? Thanks!

Always take the Free dealer programming if you can get it.

Same as always, in that you need E-Sys and PSdZData light, but now you also need E-Sys Launcher 2.x.

I have a doubt, I need to change and encode the fem module, I have to do the procedure with the new module already installed or have to make a "backup" of old before starting, with the new module the ignition does not work, what i need to do? Thanks Shawn for your support.

I don't think a used FEM will work. FEM has CAS built into, which is matched to DME and contains Key codes. Unlike other ECU's, when you order DME or CAS from BMW AG, it comes with your VIN and Vehicle Programming already done to it.

I was recently using NCD-CAFD tool to view the affected modules when doing a retrofit. It listed FEM_01... I don't have just a FEM module.. i have FEM_Body & FEM_GW... so which one of those is FEM_01???

FEM_BODY.

FEM_GW has no CAFD, thus it is not codeable.

I should have posted that was my thinking.. hence why i was code default FEM_Body b/c it had a CAFD of the 2...thanks

Sorry if this isn't the correct forum/post... but looking for the Rheingold software to help tshoot why my comfort access (and rear PDC) is no longer working after trying the OEM backup camera retrofit. Even if i remove 3AG & 508, code default affected ECU's.. (veryify PDC is removed)... Add 508 back & code default affected ECU's... PDC is no longer working (Error No Parking assistance is available, something..something..something... service is required). My rear PDC retrofit was working just fine until i tried to add the camera. Really pissed that my comfort access is no longer working... hate having to grab the key out of my pocket...

So I just successfully recoded a lot of lost functions from my most recent dealer visit. Thank you Shawn for the updated software!

Since I am no longer a paid subscriber to the BMW Online services I decided to try the activation of Bluetooth (data) tethering to enable BMW Live/Internet browser. It didn't work. I followed all the steps in the F30_Coding_Reference_Guide_v1.6.

Any suggestions?
