Hi guys, My TPMS alerted me my tyre pressure was low, I inspected the tyres and found I had a slow puncture due to this nail in the tyre, The tyre still has 6.5mm tread, Would this be repairable with it being close to the sidewall?

That is repairable and I have had it repaired in the past in that position. Sidewall is really the sidewall in my view, that is on the middle pattern.

I personally think it's boarder line due to the increased thickness of run flat side walls. Hopefully it's gone in straight and not at an angle towards the side wall. I'm fed up of picking screws and nails off the side of the roads when about on foot, some real careless pricks about!

Dumb question alert!!

Can run flats be repaired? Or more to the point, will a tyre place do it?

Yes they can but finding someone to do it is a real pain in the hoop. I've had a few repaired in the past, all independents. High St chains won't touch them.

Garage List
Have to agree independents are more willing and often more knowledgeable

Just make sure you don't run it on flat for too long and should be ok most of the time

Personally carry a compressor just in case.

worth giving it a go. Had it repaired in same place if not more to the endge on my 18" on old car held fine until I sold the car and that was about 5k more of driving

Be more of a case finding a tyre place that will be willing to do it and do a good job on it. Are they RFT as well as it will make harder finding a place to repair it

If any use to anyone, the only large chain that I have found to repair run flats is ATS Euro master. Obviously provided that the rft capability hasn't been abused.

Result - my nail was a little further to the centre and I had to have a "Major Repair" as they said it was too close to the sidewall - £34 & 4 days sans car.

Used Micheldever Tyres after searching the borough for someone to help.
