If the LED is there, you can do the mod!
Yes, all parts are genuine BMW and can be ordered there.

I didn't code it myself, so I can't really say much about it. Sorry.

Does it need to be coded if you already have the accent lighting package?

From what I can see you just connected it to one of the existing accent lights so it should just do whatever that light does, yes?

Yeah. What I meant though is that if you have a car that already has the right option fitted and you plug this sucker in it will just behave exactly the same as the rest of your accent lights - like the ones in the doors etc.

You don't need to code the car to specifically tell it that this particular light has been added?

My lighting is already controlled by the NBT interface and is also independent of the cluster "switch".

I'm asking if this is (with the exception of having to make the Y-Cable) completely plug'n'play - or if it needs more done AFTER connecting it up.

My Dealer says this part does not exist. So does RealOEM. Can you double check it for us?

Yes mate, plug and play! Just the y-adapter and presto!
If something as important as coding would have been necessary, I'd have included it in the DIY...

Your dealer is clueless, but unfortunatley most dealers are.
Your dealer (and realoem) seem to not have the latest ETK version.
The part no. is 100% correct, I double check before I put something like this on the internet.

For all the ones in doubt, you can always log on the official BMW WebETK and check #s:

I ordered the parts from my local dealer yesterday. They found the part in the system, and it gave out a price and everything, so this partnumber is correct.

Now I´m just waiting for the parts to arrive

just an FYI for anyone else in the states looking to do this - just spoke with my local parts dept.

The part # does not come up in an initial search, but if they search by car (f30 lci) they can surface the # / validate that it's correct.

That said, there are 0 in stock in the us anywhere, and 0 in stock in Germany - parts guy said it's too new, and to wait a little while.

part # ending in 39, fwiw, is for cars without the lighting package - don't order that one

ECS has all the wiring harness adapter parts in stock, total price is about $19.

Thanks for the diy, does the wiring loom all just piece together? Or is there actual wiring to be done?

Also will it fit a 4 series?

No wiring to be done on the car.
Also, most parts of the Adapter snap together, only three pins of the Adapter have to be crimped on wires.

And yes, it will also work for the 4 Series.

Awesome Thanks. Somebody else mentioned coding and you said you didn't do it yourself so thought I should check.

we get ripped off hard here in Australia

The dealer said it was the same part number as the one quoted here #64119358940

However that part number quoted here is LHD. Our cars are RHD. the consol looks like it should still be the same because its a symmetrical part? only difference is the whole consol points to the driver, LHD vehicle points to the left, RHD vehicle points to the right, but the trim surround itself does not change

Can someone help me out please. I have to source this outside the Australian dealer network because they are !@# heads who think consumers are dumb sh!@s
