How do you deal with the "Rubber Stoppers" in the rear hatch?
I searched for this and couldn't find anything in the forums. I'm a family man, therefore I'm always getting in and out of the trunk. All the time guys, when I open the trunk after driving for a little (or a lot) the rubber stoppers come off and that privacy board pivots down and hangs.
Then I have to find where those 2 little things went. Sometimes I find them right away, sometimes they bounce onto the floor, lol. After 6k miles clocked on the car, I noticed this more about 1500 miles ago, or 2 months say. How have you dealt with this issue? Yes, I am a spirited driver when I'm alone, so that does not help the situation, but still, these little things should not always fall off. If you are listening BMW, you fked this up. EDIT: FYI this is really the ONLY problem I can find with the GT, It's really an amazing car. I love it!! 2nd EDIT: BMW, you did a great job with this. I am the fk up here... I figured you would respond 1st, lol. These GT forums get lonely..
But you know what I'm referring to, correct? I wonder what the part number is because I would like to order 2 more pairs of those rubber things. |

Hi Crashnbrn5,
I think I may have the solution. I think you have replaced the two rubber grommets upside down. Try placing them into the privacy cover from the top side then push up back onto the studs.

The only thing I can think of is the same. I will ask some other guys if they have the same problem - will get back to you soon.

I have the same problem before!
To address it, like what rapid64k said, push the rubber grommets through the other side of the board in the direction as shown in the arrow... Of coz you have to take out the board from the hatch first in order to push it through. Need some gentle force. |

I had the same problem until I realized I was replacing the board upside down. Once I figured that out I haven't had a problem since. Like the OP I couldn't believe BMW could have made something that would fall out and get lost. Turns out, it was me.
