I'd pull the trigger on invisihitch without much thought. I'm already thinking of selling my Thule roof rack setup and go with invisihitch

Same here, invisihitch is the way to go! Might turn this into a late spring early summer project for myself.

Very easy to use and invisible when not in use. Highly recommended.

I had a BMW certified body shop install it while they were replacing the rear bumper. It is not very difficult, although too difficult for them, because they had inverted some wires which I had to correct myself. Their failing doesn't say much about the easiness of the job, because they also messed up the bumper installation, which is not rocket science either.

Nope but after seeing my buddy launch his jet ski serveral times with a gmc 2500 denali, I would never attempt using a 3 series to do the same thing. Even with what I'd classify as a large pick-up, it still goes mid-rear wheel high in water

I would think a trailer hitch for a f30 would be more appropriate for a small utility trailer, or a bike carrier. Saw this the other day, looks interesting:

Anybody ever had to go to a warranty work on the drivetrain since they installed their hitch? Did you guys use brake controler for the trailer? I've consider it too but I would need a 1000kg towing capacity to be on the safe side with a small camping trailer. I haven't been able to find a hitch for more than 2000lbs yet.

I couldn't justify the $600+ for an Invisihitch, so I got the Curt for around $120. For what I need it for (a bike rack), it's perfect, and while it's not completely invisible, it's not particularly noticeable. And I was able to install it myself on a Friday evening after work.

Hi Guys. I just finished with installing the Curt hitch on my 2013 328i Sedan. It all went super-well. The only notes I have for those going to do the install in the future is:
1. There's no need to lower the exhaust system as some of the YouTube videos show. I used a swivel socket extension and got the three heat shield nuts off. 2. Of course with the hitch in place the heat shield can't be put back on without modifying it. After trying to precisely cut around the hitch it still wouldn't fit, so I just cut the rear half of the piece off (just past the 90° bend so it still has a little structure) and reinstalled it. Hope that helps in case anyone out there is still thinking of putting their own hitch on. |

Billfitz 3 series can tow as much as 1800kg according EU spec. Dont expect the US spec to be different. I am towing a 19ft Stingray boat without trouble (F30 330D)
